About Robert Feil

Robert Feil, ChFC, EA, FSA is the president of Waterfront Financial Services, Inc.  His work in the financial services industry spans over twenty years.  Over the years, he has honed a wide variety of skills that make him the ideal choice to be your financial guide.

He Knows How To Listen Wouldn’t you like to work with an advisor who will actually hear your concerns without trying to sell you something?  Bob has years of experience consulting with large and small clients, hearing their problems and crafting solutions for them.  And because most of the compensation Bob receives is from the advice he provides rather than the products he sells, you can be sure he will give you an unbiased opinion – the kind of guidance you need.

He Knows How To Make Sense Of Complicated Financial ConceptsDo you feel as though you absolutely need to understand the financial world, but it’s just too complicated nowadays?  Well, much of Bob’s career was spent as an actuary – an expert in financial projections.  And although he developed sophisticated mathematical models of various risks faced by major insurance companies, he also created tools for his clients that made these models very simple and easy to understand.  Wouldn’t the perfect financial guide for you be someone who really understood the heavy technical stuff well, but explained it to you in plain English?

He Has A Wide Grasp Of The Many Different Financial Challenges Facing You Let’s be honest – if you want to handle all of your financial planning on your own, you can do it yourself.  You will, however, first need to –

ü       have a good grasp of all of the insurance products available (life, health, disability, etc),

ü       understand and keep up with all of the changes in the U.S. Tax Code,

ü       be familiar with all of the techniques of wise investment asset allocation as well as the many kinds of investments in today’s market,

ü       be able to estimate and project your cash flows from the time you expect to retire until you die, and

ü       have a good knowledge of the different tools you can use to preserve your estate.

In other words, you will need to earn the highly regarded Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation granted by the American College.  In fact, Bob did just that.  The only individuals who can claim this distinction are those who have passed courses offered by the College on all of these topics, have significant career experience in the financial industry, and have pledged to uphold the College’s Code of Ethics.  When you need advice about your financial future, wouldn’t you want to rely on someone who has this kind of expertise?

He Will Be There For You When It Counts Do you really want to be on your own when the IRS calls?  Bob is designated as an Enrolled Agent (EA) by the Internal Revenue Service.  This means that he can represent you in front of the IRS whenever you have a tax problem, whether it’s an audit dispute, a collections nightmare, or negotiating an appeal with an IRS officer.  And he is allowed to represent you, even if he didn’t prepare your tax return.  This is because Bob passed a two-day examination on the U.S. Tax Code, designed by the IRS itself, and continues to stay up-to-date with its many changes.

He Has A Network Of Contacts That Can Help Him To Help You It’s a big world out there, and changes happen quickly.  No one knows everything.  That’s why Bob is an active member of many different organizations such as the Society of Financial Services Professionals, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Society of Actuaries.  Throughout the year, when he participates in the different activities of these groups, Bob adds the most up-to-date techniques to his toolkit that he can use to help you build a brighter financial future, and uses these opportunities to network with tax and financial experts throughout the country.  Whether you have a complicated financial planning situation or a difficult tax issue, if Bob can’t give you an answer on his own, he knows someone who can.
